His students know him as someone who listens, supports, challenges, and believes deeply in their potential.
Beyond individual lessons, Dr. Seybert partners with schools, districts, and organizations to strengthen instruction, curriculum, and student outcomes.

Comprehensive assessments that highlight strengths, identify opportunities for growth, and provide actionable recommendations.
Students regularly earn top placements in ensembles, festivals, and auditions — but more importantly, they build confidence and strong musical habits that last.

Dr. Seybert’s work as a clinician, adjudicator, and presenter has been recognized across state and national music education communities.
Dr. Seybert helped me build confidence I never had as a musician. With his guidance, I earned a spot in PMEA Jazz and was accepted into three music schools. I entered college feeling prepared, confident, and ready for every challenge ahead.
Music Educator | Former Student
Dr. Seybert challenged us in ways that pushed real growth. His high standards, energy, and belief in what music education could be prepared me for the Praxis, interviews, and my first teaching job. He’s one of the most influential educators I’ve ever had.
Parent of Former Student
When my daughter wanted to quit band in fifth grade, Dr. Seybert helped her find the right instrument and the confidence to succeed. Through his mentorship, she grew into a leader, earned PMEA honors, and now excels in college band. Music became the highlight of her school day and a lifelong passion.
Former Student
Under Dr. Seybert’s direction, I grew tremendously as a musician. Being pushed outside my comfort zone in wind ensemble and marching band helped me build confidence, master technique, and become comfortable performing at a high level. That year set me up for advanced lessons and auditions for regional ensembles.
Former Student
Beyond musical growth, Dr. Seybert’s teaching instilled discipline, focus, and purpose. Those skills now guide how I approach academics, work, and music at the college level.
Parent
Dr. Seybert’s high expectations, mentorship, and belief in our daughter’s potential helped her build confidence and resilience. She learned she could rise to challenges and now actively seeks growth in academics, creativity, and life.
Former Student
Dr. Seybert pushed us to arrive prepared, committed, and ready to give our best. That expectation helped me realize I was capable of more than I thought, a lesson I now pass on to my own students.
Parent
Through Dr. Seybert’s mentorship, my son learned perseverance, leadership, and confidence. Those skills extend far beyond music and continue to shape his success in college and life.

Whether you are a parent supporting your child’s first audition, a new student learning to prepare with confidence, or an experienced musician refining your approach, this checklist offers a clear, practical framework for success.
Designed for wind players at every level, this resource outlines what matters most before an audition—while emphasizing that no two students prepare the same way. Each checklist is meant to be adapted to the individual musician’s instrument, experience, and goals.
This is not a one-size-fits-all formula. It is a thoughtful starting point—best used alongside personalized instruction and guidance.
